Practice Journals will be graded on a weekly basis. The practice week will begin on Monday and conclude on Sunday. If practice journals are not turned in Monday, there will be a “10” point penalty for each day it is late through Thursday. If a Holiday falls on a Monday, the journal will be due the next class day. If not received by Thursday, a “0” will be entered for that week. The practice journal is graded based on how long and the number of days practiced throughout the week.
The student must practice a minimum of 30 minutes over a three day period to receive a grade on their practice journal. After three days of practice, the grade will be made based on how many minutes the student practiced over the course of the week.
Extra rehearsals, private lessons, sectionals, and concerts DO count as 30 minutes on the practice journal.
